E-diary for Elective Module 9: ICT Leadership in Schools - Activity 6 – Models and stages of technology change

After Activity 6:
What I have learnt about how soon to expect change and how much change to expect:

ICT integration is beneficial to both teachers and students and it can promote significant changes in the practice of teaching and learning but it takes time, commitment and patience.  Most teachers at my school have used ICT in the teaching leaning process at some time or another and believe that integrating ICT in their teaching has a great impact on student’s learning; however there is the challenge of inadequate tools, since the tools have to be moved from classroom to classroom.    Some teachers do not have the skills to manage ICT use and therefore need support and training.

What I feel is my biggest challenge in achieving technology change in my school:
I think for the most part I possess the knowledge to provide support and training but I need to possess the strategy in leading change.

(Optional) How I feel about the course so far:

As a leader in ICT integration I play a significant role in leading change by providing support and professional development initiatives in using ICT to bring about pedagogical changes in my school.
